Re: first experiment
I like the image, but the flares look more like dust bunnies, try making them brighter. or not using them at all.
very good attempt, you will really like that software. |

Re: first experiment
Whilst I don't really mind flare (within reason) they do need to be realistic
![]() Not too sure what the effects have done for the image but it's now bisected by a very light horizon with a lot of detailess dark sky, so I'm not convinced it's the best solution for the comp |

Re: first experiment
Can't make my mind up about this one
![]() While I sit on the fence, can I just ask what this software actually does? Maybe you could show us the original shot, Fiona? Sort of 'Before & After' shots. |

Re: first experiment
Photoshop flares are so easily recogniseable that I don't think they're worth it tbh, but apart from that the processing looks interesting, so I'd say get rid of it I'm afraid. Can we see it any bigger as well?

Re: first experiment
And the winner is ... the first pic you posted - the flares help to balance the composition

Re: first experiment
Definitely better without the lens flares but you made a mistake in that when you removed them you also removed some more of the white clouds. Without them the sky looks a bit flat and uninteresting behind the lighthouse itself but with the clouds there it looks fine.
