First submission from new camera

Here is my first submission from my new camera.

Taken by Kintail Lodge Hotel on the way up to Skye 28-12-2013

Canon 5D Mk III 24-105L Handheld (time was short)

DPP and CS3. Layers and levels to make the boat stand out more on what was a grey, overcast day.

Thanks for looking. Comments/critique welcome of course

Re: First submission from new camera

You have certainly achieved your aim here Roger

The overcast conditions are really coming through and the colour of the boat is in stark contrast to the rest of the scene.

GREAT SHOT ROGER, YOUR NEW CAMERA AND LENS PERFORM VERY WELL. I LIKE THE WAY YOU HAVE MADE THE BOAT STAND OUT.

HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT TIME ON SKYE, PLENTY OF GOOD SHOTS

Hi Roger I hope you don't mind but I had a little fiddle with your picture.
I reduced shadows, put a graduation filter on the sky and put a slight vignette on to the scene all in lightroom

I love the picture by the way
Steve

Re: First submission from new camera

I like the picture and composition, Steve's version is an improvement as I thought your colours in the first version were just a bit overdone you can see the big difference on the letters on the boat.

Re: First submission from new camera

I like the edit, but the cloudy shadows are less powerful. Full frame sure looks clear, even in a hurry. I like a camera that helps out like that, sounds great.

Agree Colin. Something to ponder for future shots.

The colour of the letters was something I spotted after posting. I had thought about editing them back to white but left alone.

Many thanks
Roger
