Re: First time car shoot....

Assume this is HDR, or you're very good at CGI

All according to what effect you are after, as fine line with HDR to have the shot looking realistic vs artificial. Reckon it's good for the walls & sky, but needs to be backed off slightly for the car, as it stands out. Done a pretty good job of sorting out any halo round car, although still there around front of car.

Overall a very dramatic shot

Re: First time car shoot....

i like cars but wouldn't hang this one on my wall. not quite sure what you are trying to achieve .. If you are doing the impress thing with the HDR then it works,... other than that quite boring really...
the Angle is all wrong for me does not show the car to it's best .. only my opinion you understand ..............

Re: First time car shoot....

i dont like the HDR effect but thats me to My eye its overdone, however im sure you will get loads of people who say wow its terrific, its personal taste, like Dave says it definitayl need to be toned back on the car, my personal taste would be to tone it back everywhere cos it look too much like a cartoon drawing at the mo.
The angle as Bain says could be better moving a few steps to the left so the car isnt quite as flat on and get more of the front i reckon would make a big difference, i would also be tempted to try a wide angle shot of this...........

all that said however it IS your first attempt at car shooting so taking all this into account i reckon you have done not to bad for yourself with this.

Re: First time car shoot....

Bain..... telling me you wouldn't hang this on your wall along with your overall negative tone of the shot isn't great criticism. only my opinion hope you understand

Re: First time car shoot....

i agree but you put your shot up for feedback and that was my opinion,,,, the positive ,i gave you ,is that the hdr works ...and it does as a HDR shot, in my opinion, OTHERS may disagree , but that:s the point ..

I never the thought the point also, was to give Great criticism but to offer as part of the site, to give my best overall opinion as i see it , i never intend to offend..... but ..Put you head above the Parapet you will get shot at ............ Regards ...
