First for a while

Here's a pic i took of my old town's castle. It's the first one i've put up for a while because we've recently moved to Granada. Anyway..... go for it and don't hold back.

Re: First for a while

Granada.....lucky git Anyway the photo. It's an interesting effect which gives the appearance of "unreal". I see two aspects to the photo - firstly the subject which is rather lacking in interest and secondly there's the processing. My first impression was "it's a still from a computer game". This isn't a dislike but the jury is still out.

I'd like to see either the original shot or the same effects on a photo with more detail and subject matter.

Re: First for a while

It's has a very gamey kind of graphic type feel. Feels like it's been pulled out of the Unreal games. I like the green cast in the foreground it gives it an eary spooky look. Overall it's different which I think is good, I like the ways it's got it's own abstract look and feel.

Re: First for a while

Not sure how much you are going to believe me, but that image there is the shot that was taken, only one shot and maybe i tweaked the levels fractionally, but certainly didn't alter anything to a grand scale. Obviously it was taken at night, the sky or the clouds in distance just above horizon are being lit by a lightning storm, the stones in the foreground are being lit ...i think by fluorescent lights, giving them a greenish cast and the castle itself is being lit by tungsten floods which was almost whitebalanced for at the main highlight of the castle.
I'll hunt out another pic of the same night and see if there is something more interesting in it....this pic did get published!
