Fish in pond
I did crop the picture and enhanced some colors, but I liked the dynamic feeling and the balance the three fish give.
Would love to hear other views.

Re: Fish in pond
Hi rsegoly - these are very difficult shots to get good results out of the camera and a certain amount of processing is usual. As you have said the composition is good and the colour. I think a tighter crop might have helped to get rid of some of the rock to the right side.
I've taken the liberty of having a "go" - the levels looked OK so I adjusted the curves slightly to add some more contrast. I also cloned out the white in bottom left and removed some noise. HTH. ![]()

Re: Fish in pond
I don't like it I'm sorry, the birds eye view just kills any potential the photo has in my opinion. Get lower and try get some more detail, this just looks snapped. Sorry to be harsh.

Re: Fish in pond
I'm between the two here, no way does it just look like a snap as anyone who has tried capturing fish top-down will know. It really is not easy to get a strong shot that way.
However, I am not sure this is that strong a shot in itself. It does have strength in the positions of the three fish for sure. I agree with the crop and clone but not the noise removal as it has flattened and removed too much detail from the rocks and things. All in all it's an ok picture, probably as good as it gets in that type, just not a particularly strong subject in the first place. Fish never look great from the top (with the exception of things like the flat fish which present a much bigger profile. So for what was there, yup, it's not bad. I just don't think there is a huge amount there to get a picture out of, IMHO. Cheers, Rob
