Flooding on the Underground

This was my comp entry for WET and I think I can say without fear of contradiction that whilst this wasn't the best photo in the competition, it was definitely the wettest <g>

The reason I am posting it here as I would like some comments on it. However, at this stage I am not going to tell you how I got this picture. All I will tell you is that I DID take the picture, all of that water IS for real and none of the colours are fake! It also was NOT taken with a telephoto lens. This is very much an 'as was' photo so anyone care to venture as to how I got it without drowning in the process.

I will just reassure people that no humans or animals were hurt in the shooting of this photo

Just a bit of fun this so anyone who takes it too seriously will get a slap .... from Fiona <g>

Re: Flooding on the Underground

Yup....probably a boatride at Disney World or Universal City. All the colored lights sort of give it away.

On the other hand, I am possibly wrong.

And, it is a very good picture.

Re: Flooding on the Underground

Ok, you're all pretty much there and Jobe was right if he meant what it actually was and not the real thing:

It's at Universal Studios in Florida and is a reconstruction ride that takes you on an underground train into a station where it comes to a halt and then the tremours start.... and they get bigger until it is the equivalent of an earthquake measuring 8 on the Richter scale. It is very drmatic, the roadway above the station collapses through the roof, a tanker slides down into the station and explodes (extremely hot!) and then there is a huge flood comes rushing down the two stairwells.... 20,000 gallons of water in about 12 seconds! Even though you are right next to it, you get only minor splasing due to the clever way they build these things.

It truly is very dramatic and capturing a photo is not easy as you are being shaken all over the place in the train. This photo is the one I was delighted with. You are not getting to see the other 50-odd that are a mess! But hey, you only need one good one to have a memory forever :o)

So, any comments on the picture itself? (Thanks Skip for yours, much appreciated).

Cheers,
Rob

The difficulties of taking the picture notwithstanding, it is still a very good image.

(And who said Universal? Hmmm...give me credit)

Good job rob
