Re: footie
That is an impressive shot as it stands, would be interested to see a shot of it at night on a long exposure all floodlit and stuff.

Re: footie
Thats a good view point (is this where you sit to avoid buying a ticket?). I'm not really a football fan, but i do like to see interesting images of football pitches within the landscape (i think it must be because normally they are too huge and in too dense a populated area to be able to take them in let alone what is around them). This looks like an interesting location with it being an immaculate patch of grass right next to waste ground/building site and warehouses, also overlooking the whole town.
I am assuming looking at the position it was taken from there probably wasn't too much room to maneouvre, if wrong it would be interesting to see it from another angle. Possibly trying to get it where the tuft of grass infront doesn't quite reach the bottom most point of the stadium structure The frame around the image doesn't help it, you could do with placing a thin black frame around the image (and then a normal frame as desired) to stop the sky bleeding into the white frame at the top. I think here you have found an interesting subject and position, and i thnk it would be interesting to see more of this subject taken at different times...i.e., during a night game with floodlights on, maybe pre-game if you can get crowds coming through, possibly a long exposure of crowds milling around inside and out, if cars can drive around it at night (i can see a road going around it) maybe try to get some headlights driving around it to frame the pitch in a circle of light etc. It's a subject and a view point with potential, i like the shot as it covers such a broad spectrum of life as it meanders it's way to the hills in the distance, however there are so many other shots to be had from it. I think you should go a few times and see if you can get a better one everytime! (sorry for waffling) |

Re: footie
thanx Loly..... problem being i took it leaning right out over the castle wall............ and the castle is only open during the day ( probably to stop folks not paying for a fottie ticket1 lol). i have one or two more but this angle was the only one i could find that would allow me to get the entire ground in without having bits of castle wall or rock obscuring different parts ( if that makes sense)
i share what you and gary say about the night time potential etc but im not sure that there is anywhere as high without actually breaking and entering! lol Fiona |
