I do think it would look better without them. Seems like a hard angle to get decent light with.

Hope you don't mind, but I had a quick go with Photoshops' Shadow/Highlight tool.
You'd have a hard job shifting all the shadow without affecting the rest of the image but here's my offering (I also corrected the perspective a little) EDIT: Don't know whats going on here, but it doesn't look much different uploaded, but looked considerably better in Photoshop?**!! ![]() Last edited by Bachs : 06-09-2005 at 19:49. |

If you mean the shadows on the floor in the foreground, I like them personally. I think they lead the eye up and into the shot nicely.

I presume you know the Perspective tool is at Edit>Transform>Perspective...just drag the top left and right anchor points out to correct.
The only time you aren't going to get shadows at that location is mid-dayish and the light won't be as good quality then so I'd try and squeeze a tiny bit out with the shadow/highlight tool and pull the darks back a little with curves or levels. Looks OK as it is to me though! |

Appreciate the replies.....the good thing is I never took note of the perspective correction but now that it has been pointed out it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Is this better perspective wise?

If you get the left edge perfect, then do the right edge, the deformation on the right edge of the picture will also effect the left edge, so it can be a bit of a balancing act to get all the verticals 'vertical'. Not sure how fluent you are with photoshop - but when you're dragging the corners of the image, holding the left SHIFT key will restrict movement to one axis only - its wise to do this when you ONLY want horizontal or vertical movement and not both. |

Not very fluent GfK...........I did the above by.....Filter>Distort.Lens Correction.
I found that easier. |
