Getting Black and White right ??
Evening folks............
I've been tinkering around with a couple of photos converting to B&W - not that good but you got to start somewhere. Taken on my Fuji point & shoot digital. Thanks for looking. Last edited by Mr THX : 18-10-2005 at 18:00. |

We only allow one pic per day in this serious critique forum - sorry, so you can either delete one of the pics, or I can move your post to Photo Sharing where multiple pics is OK.

Nowt wrong with that - or the the other one. They could perhaps do with a little more punch, but that's largely a matter of personal preference anyway.

^^^as above really^^^^
But I like contrasty images anyway. I guess it depends on personal preference though. I've got a similar photo (well not very actually) here that was very soft to start off with. try this link.........q&a session it has been posted before, but helped me a lot as it gave me quite a few ideas about b&w conversion that have kick started my interest in this again |

Your views are much appreciated.................thanks.
Steve. Well spotted fella - Alton Towers it is. I take the contrast point on board - Will experiment a little - Should I be looking at increasing to the point of loosing shadow detail ?? gandhi - Thanks for the link - bookmarked it to digest fully tomorrow. |

up to you really dude,
I guess it depends on if you think the photo benefits from it, if you need all the shadow detail etc. Some of my photo's in my gallery on here have virtually no shadow as I wanted to concentrate the eye on other aspects of the photo eg... ![]() |

indeed, I think he well upset one of the contributors when he told him he didn't think much of his shot!
question is..... Am I man Enough to ask for his advice! lol! I don't know about you guys but I'd rather someone told me they thought my photo's were : censored :, and then say why, rather than try to find something banal and nice to say about them. |
