Re: Ghost dancers
I think the parents of the kids on the left should give them more vitamins.
Selective color treatment is often used to provide emphasis to or to draw attention to the subject of the photo. Here, my attention is drawn to the girls on the left and I'm not sure that is your intent. The little girl in the front is precious, particularly with that expression she has on her face. Did you consider holding her in color and desaturating the other girls in the background? - Paul |

Re: Ghost dancers
The attention to the left is correct. My niece is the far left. If you notice the division of the point of focus between the two groups. One group looking left and the other looking right.
I saved two images of this one with the center in color only. I did not like it as much. |

Re: Ghost dancers
Hi Steve
First of all, what was your intent in the desaturation? My eye went first to the little girl in the center, then to the right, and finally to the monogirls. My personal opinion is that I don't care for selective coloring. It just seems too manipulated, false, if you will. This would make a lovely image of the dancerinas with a slight total desaturation to soften the colors. On its own, it is a very neat image of the kids. Finally, and sadly, please be careful about posting kids images on the internet without parental permission. Many parents would be upset in this day in age. In fact, it is best to get permission in writing from anyone we put on the web in recognizable form, just to cya. I know, it is not always, or even usually possible. skip |

Re: Ghost dancers
Thanks for the CYA.....That never had occurred to me.
The effect is just that. The separation of the two groups and like the title Ghosts dancers... Perhaps is doesn't work..Thought I would try something new...No harm, No foul...I can take The C.C. Thanks, Steve |

Re: Ghost dancers
It never really occured to me either until my SON in LAW told me in no uncertain terms that he didn't want my grandchildrens pics on the web, even a good site like this, so I had to take them all off.
