Glass
Boring subject sorry but I'm more posting for the lighting, I want to see if your thoughts are the same as mine, crop etc not important , tungsten lighting with adjusted WB, no PS editing except crop and resize

I've taken a shot very similar to this, but I went even more moody with the lighting. Originally taken to submit as part of coursework on relationship between light and shadow.
Yours looks good, hope you don't mind me sharing mine (there appears to be some loss of shadow detail with the upload, you can see more of the base in the [expensive!!!] print I had made of it... )

I think the black card I used was too big? more light would get around the glass if it were smaller

I definitely think this needs the rim of the glass to be showing to complete the form. Without it, the shot becomes rather abstract so I agree that you need to get a bit more light around the glass itself. Have another go and let us see it
