GTIcy
Do love them frosts! And my macro decided to work again. Would welcome any suggestions as to how I should have comp'd this as I've probably got the shot!
And I do (usually) love irony! Just got a call: this car has just blown up ( clutch gone) and muggins here is off to sort it out! ![]() |

Re: GTIcy
i agree with sawdust here. When you are this close it is a bit limiting - left/right up/down.
Maybe a straight-on one would keep it all in focus, but might prove awkward in other ways. Top job |

Re: GTIcy
As usual Mark, brilliant shot; my only niggle would be that I would have liked the 'G' to be a little sharper. Glad to see your macro lens in operation again

Re: GTIcy
Not a lot wrong with it as it is. I think I would have done the same thing but from the other side. Why? Because of two things: first is the the first letter would be pin sharp and the blurring would be on the last letter, which feels more balanced. Second thing is that by being closer to the G, the angle would mean there is a little bit of separation between the middle cross part of the G and the side of the G. I hope that makes sense.
But hey, you got a good image as is so well done ![]() Cheers, Rob

Re: GTIcy
Thanks for the comments, everyone!
Straight-on, Graham: did take this shot but the frost didn't work so well Other side, Rob: again, tried it but the light cluster is immediately behind and so interefered with the simplicity of the shot. did try and "straighter" to increase the letter seperation but, again, did not work quite as well Oh, and car is now dumped in garage to await resuscitation! ![]() |

Re: GTIcy
Yup, got you mark. Well no probs as it is a strong picture this way round too. Great eye for a picture here, especially for car lovers who will no doubt swoon.... but not with the heat <g>
Cheers, Rob |
