At The Gym - color v. mono

Some have made the comment that they would not know that the mono version is taken at a gym. That they didn't know the background was a mirror until they were told.

This is the color image, unchanged except thay I didn't use the channel mixer to go to mono.

This is perhaps, an interesting example of why mono is so wonderful.....it changes our perception!!!!

Hey Skip, this looks like it was taken at a Gym....... Is she working out?

And that's pretty cool that you caught her reflection in the mirrors...
Lets see now, mono perception

- that means we can only perceive one thing at a time, right?

Glad you've got such a good sense of humor - you are correct in that I see things very differently in this shot than I did in the original.

I am monoperceptive all the way.

I would not be unhappy if this set off a discussion of color v mono, why one, not the other, advantages and disadvantages, etc.

In any event, perhaps this is the better picture because there is more sense of place.

I still wouldn't have guessed it was taken in a gym even in colour.........I would have said she was in the bathroom opening a cabinet door

i think its pretty obvious where she is , and there is more definiation in the colour version. still doesnt make me think "strong woman" but its more on the right lines.

I think this image hangs together better than the mono, but your hidden message is still hidden!

it now seems softer and more feminine i think, and i can make out the reflections now which is better

The message I wanted (after the fact re: Charlotte) is still not there, but I think that this is a stronger image. I think there is a large difference between the mono and color, with the color winning out. I think that usually a good mono is much better than the color version. I think that perhaps the mono version, ergo, wasnt that great.

I think, therefore I am.

Would not disagree with that Skip. As I said, it hangs together better than the mono.
