It is very nice, and as i am looking at it i am trying to think of what to say about it.....I think there are so many things that go in your favour in this image i.e. obviously you framed the fisherman there, but the angle of his rod adds to the image, also the vapour trail in the top left hand corner works for you. I feel my eye going from the base of the lamp to the top only to be stopped by the vapour trail then brought down to the rod which in turn brings me back into the picture (sorry if this is waffle). The clayer of clouds which run straight the through the middle of the image are very helpful as they cut through the lamp at it's third. There are so many thirds in this image...it's framed brilliantly.
Gives a nice relaxing i wish i was there feel which i am sure you were going for. The colours look very natural which is always good. So many things work in this image, but i can't help thinking why oh why didn't you clean it before you posted it. Nice shot, but if you clean those 'orrible pieces of sensor dirt off it (top right, and possibly just above the centre cloud line in middle of image [though they may be birds]) it would be brilliant imo! Sorry to be harsh with the dirt thing but you take pictures like that you ought to be able to do them justice whilst post processing them. (again sorry if it's waffle, just had baby who's still in hospital with mum and trying to take my mind of it) |

maybe we should re-name this forum 'pimp my best shot' ?
I've thought and thought about this one but can't for the life of me see anything to pick holes in. That's a complement BTW! ![]() Oh yeah, almost forgot CLEAN YOUR SENSOR/LENS! |

I've removed the spots from it now but now I need my sensor cleaning. Is this something I should do myself or get an expert to do?

Depends, you can more than manage it yourself, i would have thought. Make sure you get yourself the proper equipment though, then it should be no bother. But if thats your only spot i shouldn't bother just yet.

Maybe before you do, you could have a quick read of this... http://www.cleaningdigitalcameras.com/methods.html
Hope it helps, cheers! |

I've changed my mind after researching it on here. Think I'm going to order myself some of the digi pads and eclipse cleaning fluid. Otherwise, it seems I'll just be blowing the dust around instead of removing it.
Thanks for the link

I'd get a blower regardless - they still work, but more importantly they can be used in almost any circumstance and quickly - i.e. in the field if required, also they only tend to cost about £5, and can be used for getting dust off lens surfaces, viewfinders, and in many cases is all thats necessary to get rid of most specs. Using fluid cleaning every time you get sensor dust will enevitably increase the risk of sensor damage as when necessary its the best method, but the fact is in most circumstances it will just be overkill.
