Help required wit this pic.

This is the 1st time i've tried night shot. Was taken at 1sec with standard lense on a 300d



Seems a bit bright on parts the bridge.

Here you are Paul...



What I've done is adjusted the histogram for the whole pic and then for that left tower as a separate mask where it was blown out.

And straightened it up!! :wink: Sharpened it some too.

I pressume the original is sharp and therefore wonder if after resizing the image for here, you sharpened it ?

I might of been tempted to try a longer shutter speed too, to try and smooth out the water some more but then thats just my style.

Damned good advice! Take any large pic and reduce it to this sort of size and you'll notice the decrease in definition right away.

This is why most people will apply a little USM (unsharp mask) on images that are to be shown on the web. Only apply it after the image has been reduced to the "display for web size" as it will be much easier to get the correct balance between sharpness and the dreaded "halos". Some of the less experienced members may not know this, so hopefully it is of some help.
