High Key Eyes

Never done anything like this before and just working through some new techniques in CS2. What do you make of this? Does it do anything for you?

CnC much appreciated!

Cheers,

Re: High Key Eyes

oh this is very nice!!!!!!!! and i think u have picked the colour well for hte eyes. im nit picking but there is a tiny bit of red reflection int he right eye that is distracting but i do stress nit picking!
perhaps needs a little more contrast as all the mono is slightly grey but a cracking shot!

Re: High Key Eyes

I personally don't like selective coloring. Just my preference.

There isn't enough tonal range to carry off the hi key here.

It is good that you didn't get redeye here. Was it processed or did you use a hotshoe flash?

On another subject, I took a pic hi key in camera and another post processed high key, and I didn't see much difference. I will post them in a week or so when I get the model's ok.

Re: High Key Eyes

Very good ! all you need is to burn around the eye so the color outline wont be so harsh.
heres an example I just burned the outline of the left eye. didn't do anything to the right so you can see the difference.

Thanks for the comments all...

Fi, originally I wasnt sure how to get rid of it but I just had a shot with the spot heal and it looks good so im going for that.

There was no red-eye when I shot it and I dont have a hot shoe flash. What I did do was very loosely wrap a single sheet of toilet roll over my pop up flash to try and diffuse the flash.

J Sotelo...I like what you've done with the left eye I will give that a shot - thanking you!

Cheers,

Alastair

Re: High Key Eyes

You can also experiment with the eyelashes you can set a hard brush to 1 and go over the eyelashes with the burn tool, probably even add some. play with it.

Re: High Key Eyes

Good move with the toilet roll, just make sure it doesn't set on fire if using a very high output....and I'm only slightly joking
