Re: How much sharp is a good thing
Interesting treatment. It becomes one dimensional and flat, which I think works well here for a different effect. Not a photo, but a painting perhaps. The colors and bokeh are terrific.

Re: How much sharp is a good thing
Not your standard Cardinal shot - maybe that is why this one appeals to me. I also know how tough it is getting these guys to sit still. I can guess that since there is a spider web in good focus on the RHS that the bird and branch are not in focus because they were moving. Like I said - its tough and more often than not, a numbers game - take a zillion shots and hope one or two caught them in focus.
I really don't want to reopen the bokeh box argument but whatever that pattern is in the background - I like it. - Paul

Re: How much sharp is a good thing
Yeah, not quite nailed the focus - I'm guessing autofocus used and it latched onto the leaves
![]() But lovely colours and "BG pattern"! LOL! |

Re: How much sharp is a good thing
Thanks, I did work on the head, I remeber you guy's telling me that the eyes should be there. I had an extender on for awhile and used manual focus, but can't remember if this shot made it thru the experience.
