Never quite sure what to make of this shot, I think I like it, what's your thoughts. Could be the conversion to B&W or my scanning technique, some thing niggles me, more so when printed.

I really like the geometry in this shot..........................but the more I look at it, the more my eyes go funny!!
What is the building? I can't quite work it out........offices, a tower of some sort - please enlighten me!!!

I think that its a great shot but can't help thinking what it would look like if you had got the edge of the stairs in, don't know if it would have made it better or worse. Don't spose youve got a shot like that have you to compare?

I see what you are saying. Thought I had the original but don't, would of been good to see how others may of cropped.

Lovely abstract quality to it and wonderful repeats. Only slight problem I have with it is the extremes of contrast - there's a lot of black and white. I'd use Curves and spread the tonal range - which softens the impact. Oh, and I like crop just as it is!

i like it as long as i dont look at it too long! like magaera my eyes go funny....... i like the crop its unusual as is the pic itself!

I like it, although Markulous is right as usual (for me atleast) about the contrast needing to be toned down a little, this will then be a little easier on the eyes.
The thing that made me doubt whether i like it or not is the fact that i only have a 19" monitor and it doesn't quite fit into the web page (using firefox with bookmarks and tabbed browsing taking a little more space) so was quite awkward having to scroll that extra 5mm to see it all.

For me, the only thing I don't like is the over-heavy black boarder. The picture has wonderful vertical lines that get thinner and thinner as they work their way out to the edge, only to then be hemmed in by a thick black line that doesn't let the image 'breathe'. I know I talk about images needing to breathe a fair bit but I hope you can get what I mean.



The picture itself is a bit tight cropped as it would have been better if we could see the rest of the spiral staircase but it is possible you couldn't see that anyway, not sure. Anyway, despite that, I do feel with the smallest of borders it allows the picture some space. An alternative would be to give it a mid-tone grey border so that it isn't so heavy.

Well, that's my 1p worth.... not quite worth 2p but we're trying :o)

I really llike it but i think because the stairs go off the edge of the photo that it leads your eye away and makes it a bit hard to really look at. Just my opinion though!
