I liked the girls expression, this was taken at a civil war re-enactment day over easter. This young lady is a natural. Her mother was fully aware and noticed and tried to have her pose but the image was not as good, also my tele zoom lens had broken making the images on the day very soft around edges.
I have opened the RAW file in Capture NX, enhanced the eyes and general levels and cropped a little.

I find her hat and face the most interesting parts of this shot - her tunic and blouse are so bright that they distract. Perhaps even more cropping is in order.

Thank you, the eyes have been exaggerated somewhat and tend to agree to the extra cropping just had a look and there is an improvement, focuses on the eyes more.

i think bit more cropping so you have mainly head and tad bit of shoulders ,also if you are able to take some of the glare off her little cheeks ,as my eyes go down to the brightness of cheeks. The face expression and hat i think are great .Always think some shots like this one when its a natural pose and expression come across to much better than half the set poses that people do .I just think it is such a natural shot .

I agree that this girls face and hat are the focal points. So I took the liberty of cropping and bumping up the white and black points a bit. Perhaps she is too red, and I tried to improve that, but failed miserably.

on my monitor really red ...but i have to have a little chuckle ,you sond like you also have a bit of a hard time with your ps reading your mind on what you want it to do

Good thing mine cant answer me back ....i read the how to do it ...and bout there iam helplessly lost .I just battle trying to understand how to get it to do what i want...The tutorials when its step by step with illustrations work well , i will just have to have that up on another monitor whilst working on photo on another monitor.Good thing Will is normal beside me on his computer when iam playing with my pics.
Any how prefer original except the highlighted cheeks ,as you say this is to red (well it is on my monitor.) admire your perservering on the ps

Makes a big difference, losing the red helps, had screen on wrong setting for some reason.
