Island Sunset
![]() Yes, sunsets are trite. This one is a Caribbean Island, I forgot which one, taken with my trusty old Canon s45. I rather like it for the feeling it gives, the sun is going down, and it is already dark on land, and lights are popping on. The deep red clouds are hazily mirrored in the water, and into this buccolic scene, what???? those damn smokestacks jar the image! The clouds are even pointing to them! Exactly. skip |

Re: Island Sunset
Thanks, Cotter.
In a way, I cheated by suggesting that the stacks actually added to the image. That was done to prevent Rob from saying: "clone the stacks, they detract from an otherwise good image." ![]() skip |

i like the image a lot....sky and skyline is awesome...but the lights on the left are sort of a distraction in my opinion.....but very nice image!

Re: Island Sunset
Sometimes Skip I think we are on the same waqvelength, others I don't think you get me ata ll!
My first impression of this picture was exactly this: 'Wow, what a great composition. If those chimney stacks weren't there this would be an absolutely nothing picture other than another strong sunset. The chimneys really make it.' Guess I am not as predictable as you thought eh? :o) Cheers, Rob |
