Just an old village.

Village of Grosjnjan in Istra - I tend to take a few shots like this on holiday, interesting places weve been to. So...any critique welcome, thanks.

This pic doesn't seem to do much for me, sorry. For one it leaves me wondering what would have been in the streets, that you didn't show. I think I would have liked to see more of that. Perhaps turning your camera would have shown that. Maybe framing the shot in the doorway you are standing in I presume?? There just doesn't seem to be enough interest in the shot for me, unless I am missing something here.

I agree with jewel. While I like an image to portray a story, and leave me intrigued and wanting more, this leaves me wanting too much more, yet not giving me enough in the first place. If that makes sense.

Technically it's fine for me, all the tones have been captured, nothing blown at either end. It's the composition in my eyes that let it down.
I would agree with jewels comments about seeing the rest of the scene.

Yes it's a bland shot. I chose that a little bit deliberately as I wanted feedback on the technical aspects rather than content. I'll be putting a few more in the photo Sharing Forum so would be grateful if you would have a look there. Thanks for the comments.

The shot looks technically sound with good DOF and using an archway as a frame is often a good idea. I'm guessing that area in the centre of your shot with the crumbling plaster and brick looked far more interesting than it appears in your shot. A more interesting focal point, a window or something, could have made all the difference to this shot, but as it is it just leaves you wanting to see what is happening down at ground level
