Leaf Burst

Slightly more conventional this time, a leaf, some sun, a narrow aperture. Oh and and a very high-up enlarger (quite a big enlargement).
From film as you might have guessed, I made this shot by poking a hole in the leaf with a stick (sorry eco-warriors), and used a narrow aperture.
Wondered what you thought. Quality of this scan isn't as good as the others cos I didn't do 6400 dpi , only 600 this time

TFL,

Jack

Re: Leaf Burst

I like this one and have taken a few similar shots though I never mutilated my 'model' in the process[just kidding].
I do like the starburst effect.I wonder if a full resolution scan would be better though?

Re: Leaf Burst

Thanks water, yes definitely it would, but extremely much running out of space on my hard drive atm (3gb left!) so can't really make any super-files. Will buy a 500gb HD then do it

Re: Leaf Burst

Nice idea and like the effect.

Out of interest what film scanner are you using, and have you tried it with any colour slide ?

Re: Leaf Burst

Thanks, just did a better print today in the darkroom, will post that in sharing soon!
The scanner is just part of the Dell All in One 928 printer, but can actually do surprisingly good scans at hi-res. I've scanned negatives, and they work quite well, but no idea I'm afraid about colour slides.
