Re: light and shadow

A difficult shot to critique (is my excuse for the delay!) - what detail there is seems OK but the composition doesn't allow a proper understanding of the subject (though think the shallow DOF isn't helping).

If you're after the 'monster rising from the depths' look to the shot, it needs an offset view to fully see the DOF trailing down into the shot. Bee is central in the frame and I'd prefer off centre to give the shot some more impact

Having said that, the colours/light are lovely (and I suspect the reason for your posting the shot)

Re: light and shadow

Yes, as Mark has said, the photographic technical elements are fine, beautifully focused and the lighting and colours are strong. My only problem with it is that it is a bit abstract as it is hard to work out what exactly it is. If you wanted an abstract macro, you have achieved it very well indeed. I think I'd prefer it to give me something to look at beyond the abstract, ie something of the creature itself.

Still well done as it is though

Cheers,
Rob
