Re: London at night

On a tripod obviously. F11 with a 30second exposure. Then starting with the camera level turned it every 5 or 6 seconds and locked it again.

Ahh, right! Cheers! I'd give it a whirl except around here when the sun goes down it just gets dark - with no lights!

Ive tryed it before on a much smaller scale in my garden, using fairy lights and torches. Worked quite well.

Re: London at night

It's an interesting method that I've seen done in lots of different ways and this one has worked nicely. It looks a bit like looking into the front of a lens so as photographers it would certainly make a connection.

Overall, I think pictures like this need to have some sort of purpose behind them and not simply a 'special effect' so it's important to think about what the picture is saying. Even abstract art usually has some form or purpose, though not all. Sometimes it is merely the juxtaposition of lines, curves and angles that form the purpose and that could be said here with the straight lines forming curves as they twist.

Interesting picture, well done

Rob

Re: London at night

I took them as research i was doing for an art project. Looking at music and rythem of the city. The sort of feeling you would get if youd just come out of a club or something and had had abit to much to drink. with the feeling of bass and energy still with you.
