lucky sunset shot!
Just one of those times you shoot 100 frames and you don't know what you got until you take a look! What does everyone think on this one... what could be better?

Re: lucky sunset shot!
Not a lot - a nice shot with good silhouettes. I would take an inch of the bottom - firstly it will put your horizon on a third and secondly you will lose that distracting light.
Oh....I think I detect a little noise in the image so it would be worth running through Noiseware, Noise Ninja or even Photoshops own de-noise filter. Thanks for showing |

Re: lucky sunset shot!
I would take some off the left side. I just love sunset pictures. No matter what they are always different.

Re: lucky sunset shot!
Because the sun + the tree are right up against the RH edge of the frame + there's not much on the LH part of the frame except an expanse of water, I'd crop most of the dead space off, like this ...
Image removed, but will re-post if you consent, dude. A completely different image, with much more interest IMHO. Last edited by Charlotte : 25-08-2007 at 22:52. Reason: Removed image. |

Re: lucky sunset shot!
I agree with Stephen's suggestion re thre crop, and I also like Charlotte's portrait version that is more what I would be considering for this picture.
However, I must point out that pwrbkdude has not consented to mage editing, so strictly speaking, we ought no to do this. |

Re: lucky sunset shot!
Quite right Graham. I didn't think pwrbkdude would mind, since it's just a crop (no other editing). However, you are correct in pointing out that I posted an edited copy of someone else's image without their permission ... Sorry dude, didn't mean to take liberties.

Re: lucky sunset shot!
I like the concept. IMHO the image would be better served with whole tree framing the right and less water front on the left.

Re: lucky sunset shot!
Charlotte, would love to see your take on it! I don't mind as long as people ask permission
having other people play with my work is a new concept! |
