I visited Rockingham Castle during one of their reenactment days - this time it was the Vikings vs Everybody Else, from what I could tell.
It was all good fun, but you might not believe it from the look on this chap's face. If you view the larger version it's as if he's about to strike me down or summat... ![]() ![]() Anyway, all C+C welcome of course.

Re: Man of war...
Heh, good expression you caught there. Is a little soft, and could have done with a slightly faster shutter speed so as not to blur his hands, or a slower one to completely blur them; at the moment it just looks indecisive.

Re: Man of war...
Great expression, I drove past as this was on as I was going out to a cycle race. Very local to me, but not visited any of the re-enactment days, are they worth a visit?
I think any softness that Jack might be seeing could be due to the compression, most of my shots look sharp printed, but can sometimes have a softness on site. Good use of DOF to separate him from the background & nothing distracting in it either. |

Re: Man of war...
Thanks chaps.
![]() I think the sharpness is OK on the fullsize version - just his hands are a bit blurry due to his movement. Whipspeed - I would recommend going to one of their reenactments only if you get a free pass or significant discount. Tickets to both the castle and grounds were not very good value - over a tenner ISTR (can't remember exactly how much but it was expensive given the size of the place). I'd have been happy to pay a few quid but they were really charging too much on this occasion. |
