Ok, thought I should give a non-waterfall shot now, don't want to be a one trick pony <g>

Up in the Lake District I got up at 7am on the Sunday to watch the Grand Prix but as soon as I looked out of the window I changed my mind. I grabbed my camera and went out and was treated to this beautiful site. The colour and mist are not touched up, this is the scene as I saw it. The only thing of significance I have done other than the obvious framing is to clone out some cables that were strung across the scene that I couldn't do anything about. I was staying in the house bottom left.

Canon 40D with 17-40mm L.

...sorry that's not much of a critique but as I'm not a much of a landscape shooter I can't really suggest any changes, apart from maybe a slight crop off the top to give a slightly wider look to the shot, that may not improve it though

Nothing to critique - only to admire. I think you have the composition spot on with just the right amount of FG interest, and the exposure shows just the right amount of detail too.

I would not crop it at all.

Really nice Rob. Only thing I am noticing is the really low file size, meaning that I can see an awful lot of compression artifacts....39kb seems quite low for a 200kb limit

Great shot Rob Gorgeous colours, exposure is spot on; a lovely tranquil scene, well worth getting out to capture, and you did a very good job of it. It's a pity the FG trees are blocking the lovely view ... if only you could've flapped your arms a bit, for a slightly more elevated view over the treetops

I'm guessing you mean the pic size?... if so then it's because the gallery automatically resizes shot's over 800pix.

If you find this happening all you have to do is remove the /medium from the BB code link under your shot in the gallery before posting. HTH
