Well, that narrows it down then

Very nice shot (as expected), but I'd consider cloning out the boats and the white specks in the shore/bottom tree line, and in an ideal situation, prefer more seperation between this shoreline and the rushes.

I find this darkest strip interferes too much.

I'm with Graham on this: all he says - but I'd even consider cloning out the reeds where they cross into the mountains/sky. Turns it into a simpler (and, to my eye, better) shot!

Re: Mono Lake - Somewhere near Munich

when looked at up close or further away the clouds perhaps dominate too much,. the subject and composition are good but the tones aren't quite right for me somehow

I like it too, at first thought to much grey matter,,,as for the reeds, that's what it looks like, nice and cluttered...

Re: Mono Lake - Somewhere near Munich

Dave, the picture is made by the stone. I would still leave the reeds at this height because:

a. you chose this to be the case when you took the shot
b. I think it links the layers at the top

Removal of the v small white (sails?), as already suggested may be useful fine tuning.

Overall an excellent photograph.

Re: Mono Lake - Somewhere near Munich

I'd leave this one just the way it is aswell, yep, even the boats

Great processing, I love the way you brought out the clouds.
