More Swans
First time I've ever really tried to take any pics of swans or anything like that. Here's what I got first time around...
It wasn't ideal light (dusk) and one of them was taken with a flash, so I'll have another go on a better day, I reckon... All constructive criticism gratefully received... ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks Chris |

first of all, congratulations at getting so close, swans benefit from tight pics, as ones 3 miles away never impact the same,
however, the middle shot is a full no-no imho , it doesnt seem to do anything but look out of focus and too slow a shutter speed, tho i think i know what u were trying to do, the first shot is good, tho the levels could possibley do with being brought up slightly ? and would be a better pic if the swan wasnt just goin away from you, but i know its hard to shout instructions while taking their pics, lol the last shot is the best of the bunch i think, its tight, sharp and the levels are good, tho possibly a little lighter, but thats easy to do, the lower leaf tho is slightly distracting and could do with cloning out to improve the composition , i would also go away from the black border as a lot of the pic is already very dark, you may have to experiment with a few types/colours to help the shot shine all this said i think you have two great shots there, and this is only my opinion , i have around 100 swan shots to get thro b4 posting, so i think i will have to pull my finger out and share em, MP

were these taken on the newly aquired Nikon D70 ?
as most of the shots will always need bringing up , as the camera tends to underexpose perposly so the highlights dont get blown out, this may explain the slight darkness to the three pix, hope this helps MP |
