Re: My Beautiful Wife
The natural lighting & processing offering a dreamlike feel to the shot. Sometimes it's the unplanned shots that make the best images
. The framing is very personal, so you will split opinions with that one, but overall you've captured a moment that is precious to you, so spot on |

Re: My Beautiful Wife
Emotionally and technically a terrific shot. We are immediately drawn in....what is she doing? Why does she look so troubled?
And the softness of the shot is perfect. I am not sure that I like the framing, but it is different. Does it add impact? No, I think it detracts from the intensity of the subject. skip |

ok im gonna be horrible now and say that the image just doesnt do it for me..BUT i will add that i think that is more personal taste than anything to do with the photo itself......

Re: My Beautiful Wife
There's something about this image that makes me feel very uncomfortable, the subject looks worried, scared and perhaps cowering from someone.
Not an image I care to look at for too long. Well done for making an impact, not sure if it's the impact you were looking for though! Technically a good shot (although I don't like the frame either). |

Re: My Beautiful Wife
It really helps to see your comments . thats why i tried it again with just a small stroke instead of a frame .. one thing i would really like is for fiona to let me know what she would have done different, that way i can better the picture even more ...well the next ones a least... by the way she was just having a blue day ..we all have one once in a while..but i captured hers ......thanks

Re: My Beautiful Wife
i dont know what i would have done to be perfectly honest... it may be cos it shows her being down that i dont click with it... perhaps i would have tried to get her full face in or try to make the arm less prominent in the picture.. please trust me in that i dont mean its not a good image. it is, but i think its one of those that have no grey area. you are either going to like it or not...... sorry i know im not being much help here.

Re: My Beautiful Wife
I guess my prob is that I don't feel like I am seeing very much. I am basically seeing one eye and 2/3rd of a nose. Can't see her left eye and can't see her mouth. I don't have problem with her lying down and just feeling lazy, why not? I just feel I should be getting more access to her face. The cushion is acting as one big barrier so we don't feel we can reach into the photograph.
I entirely like what you've tried to do and I think if you take a few more similar, you'll get a better one that gives us more contact. Good on you for trying something different. Cheers, Rob

Re: My Beautiful Wife
The minute I look at this picture I get uncomfortable.
That is good. The emotional content is so well captured. The sparce content amplifies the emotion even more. This is a dark, depressing, wonderful, at the far end of the bell curve image. I love it. skip |

Re: My Beautiful Wife
fiona, to tell you the truth i never liked the arm being so prominant either but it was one of those times where if i went any closer she would have moved or ended up looking a
the camera and that would have lost the whole moment thats why it is like it is ..it was a now or never shot.. i didnt want to have her pose, even though she is my favorite model .... i really appreciate the comments and i will keep them in mind |
