okay, I've done some more work on this now and converted it to b&w and cropped. Any thoughts on the conversion and the crop?

I think they are both super images of your.....daughter? Skins tones are good in both colour and mono. However, I don't like the plain white b/g which appears to be shopped in and doesn't do the shot justice. It may well be the original b/g was even worse
Thanks for posting.regards |

I like it. It pays to put a border around your images though, just to bring it off the forum page a bit.

Nice shot Graeme. The background is too evenly lit though which leaves the figure looking as though it's been cut and pasted. It should be pretty easy though to select the background with the selection tool and drop in a more suitable background.

I just couldn't resist it Graeme.
![]() ![]() I 've selected the background with the magic wand and applied a coloured lighting effect to the background. Then reversed (inverted) the mask and applied lighting to the figure which blends with the background lighting and gone for a warmer look overall. Have a play - it's a nice shot and it will be even better with the original larger file. |

I like the mono crop better than the original - I feel the original is too hard on the eye with the bright background. I like CT's attempt - looks alot better with some background colour, and gives some depth to the final shot.
