My first portrait shots

2nd post here so I'll start with some new shots. Must get into the habit of posting here more!

These were taken while on holiday in Edinburgh so I didn't really have control over the lighting. The light is a bit too harsh as it was early afternoon and the backgrounds aren't great but I had to make do with what I had. The person in the shots is a friend of mine from Uni.

Taken on a Canon A80 with no cropping. They are taken towards the telephoto end of the lens which makes them not as sharp as I would like.

Comments always welcome.

Thanks

Well the lighting may have been harsh but you've exposed pefectlly for the flesh tones. Nice work for available light. When you go in that up close and personal you should really oughta attend to the odd zit!
