Re: My First Shot Posted!
Great first shot Terry
Lighting and composition are both very good, but the since eyes are everything here I did a quick version with some extra unsharp mask around the eyes which I felt were a bit soft, but this could well be because it's being viewed on the web, I also brightened them a little aswell. Hope you like.

Re: My First Shot Posted!
How many times do we hear "If you don't like your pictures, you're not close enough." and "Fill the frame". A+ on both of these and you started off with such an endearing face, you set the bar pretty high for yourself.
Now, about that overexposed area on the left - the Highlights review screen on the D50 can be a big help here. All you have to do is get the young one to sit still while you figure out how to adjust exposure LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL............. ;-) - Paul |

Re: My First Shot Posted!
Outstanding first pic, TK, and Sonseys edit was great.
I, too, don't like the highlights. The eyes are the main focus, and the highlights are fighting with them for my attention. skip |

Re: My First Shot Posted!
J - I think that you missed a bit on the dreamy. It is too blurry and the sharp eyes jump out at you a little too much. A bit less blur would have hit it.

Re: My First Shot Posted!
I loved the original and was almost knocked off my chair by Iain's pimp with the sharp eyes.... absolutely superb. I don't notice the overlit side of the face just because those eyes grab hold and don't let go.
You should be really proud of that shot tk, and if that is your son I am sure you are more than proud of him too ![]() Beautiful work, well done. Rob |
