My idea of Bokeh

Know that the generally accepted definition is the OOF area of an image but I look at it one stage further: the character that individual lenses will give objects, especially light, in the OOF areas (which is why a lens might be described as one that has good Bokeh)

I like that type of bowkay.
The Japanese however prefer softer outlines and always go for rounded apertures where possible.

this too is my idea of good bokeh it can really add to an image. i do prefer the rounded bokeh though but i think the shape you have here markulous really suits the image

This is how I consider bokeh. I don't take pictures entirely out of focus, but like the way different lenses react to different situations regarding light and shadow!!!

Aboslutly great picture Mark, good colors in the background. When I saw your pic I dug into my harddrive and found this picture, the textures from the light and aperture settings can make great backgrounds. For me, you can tell I like texture.

i like both combined .together the japenese softer outlines plus good soft light effects in a Bokeh (out of focus area). I think alot of people make the mistake of bokeh being a good macro image. Have definately learnt a lot on Bokeh , and totally enjoy viewing all the different Bokeh images that appear on different sites.
