I'm a newbie when it comes to this DSLR lark. I took a spontaneous photo of my little un just after he came out of the bath and had no time to set up the shot, and had a play with Photoshop. I had shot in jpeg mode (have learnt that raw is the way to go). I quite like the results but was wondering what improvements could be advised.

That is a great picture Ian You have caught a lovely expression.

Technically, it looks a bit flat on my monitor, so I suspect a levels and/or curves ajustment will add a bit more dynamic range which will in turn give the picture a bit more punch.

Yes great expression, as Graham said could do with a bit more punch, you have a very handsome young fella there Jag!

Could not resist having a little play!

All this is is a levels tweak to bring the sliders to meet the ends of the histogram and a very small curves tweak to give a little more contrast.



Make all the difference, don't you think?

Certainly does

I forgot about the levels Just had a play with the original copies and they are much better. Thanks for advice!
