Not without re-shooting it. Nice shot Sammy but I might have tried a sharper angle of the bridge and maybe get less open sky....just a thought. Despite that the two steel hawsers rising to the top of the tower certainly give an impression of size.

The steel looks good - but the tower is a little dark - the suns over your left shoulder but the tower looks underexposed hiding detail.

Yeh, I see what you mean about the tower. I checked on the raw and it has a similar effect which is quite strange!
I think the size reduce and Jpeg lossy have removed most of the detail from the stone though. |

Sammy, I would have tried to get the nearest steelwork coming in from the corner of the image, this would have been a good lead in going to the top of the tower, which I think needs to be a bit closer to the right hand side of the frame.
It could also do whithout the car and the bollards, so try to hide them with the steelwork (thats if you reshoot). The detail in the brickwork can be brought out using the dodge tool in PS. I would also adjust the levels on the sky to show some of the detail. Is this bridge lit up at night? If so try shooting as the sun is dropping out of the sky, you'll be surprised at the different colours you get. Good attempt though. |

Thanks for the suggestions there Matt, I'm going to be back up that way when the trees start to turn so I'll have a go at reframing it then!

You can always add a more interesting sky
![]() ![]() OK, I'll stop adding skys to shots now :coat:

Have you found a way to stop the slight halo effect you get at the edges yet Dave?

I did find some instructions for "Filter" -> "Other" -> "Maximum" , to be done before Gaussian blur of edges (which I did). Yet to play with though. Also I expect you need to be more careful when creating mask.....I use a 300 pixel brush for quickness....probably a bit too much "Rolf Harris"

OK, amended shot above to take into account the next instructions in post above....& it works
. Seems to shrink the mask by the 1 pixel I stated. Then followed by 0.5 pixel Gaussian blur for final effect. Would be easier with larger image file for reference.
