Congrats on your new lens
![]() Looks like you nailed the focus @f2.2.....presuming you were focussing on that particular stem

Re: New Lens 35mm - Straight from Camera
Thanks guys, I did focus on the stem and got the result i was looking for. I bought this lens mainly because it gives great results of DOF and is also excellent for low light situations. Im looking forward to using it more and trying a few portraits.
Cheers!

Re: New Lens 35mm - Straight from Camera
Hi Trish, the photo looks fine and the wide aperture has done a good job of blurring the BG.
Can I just ask, was this as close as you could go in terms of focusing? It may well be so given that it's a wide-angle lens and so not really designed for close-ups or macros but just wondered how it gets on with close focusing. Certainly no problem with it here :o) Cheers, Rob |

Re: New Lens 35mm - Straight from Camera
Hi Rob, it was actually one of the first shots I did with the lens.
Its a 35mm fixed lens so I got as close as I could. The focusing is excellent and will most likely be better once I get to grips with it. Im going to have do a lot more practise shots to see if it improves by photography (Dream on Trish) lol!I took this shot the next day of one of the kids just fooling around my back garden and this was taken from a much further distance and cropped down.

Re: New Lens 35mm - Straight from Camera
There is definitely nothing wrong with that lenses sharpness then :o) And by the way, there is nothing wrong with your photography either Trish, you have improved loads over the time that I have seen your pics and I am sure that will continue. I am always looking to improve as are all sensible photographers. Some think they know it all but most recognise there is always something more to be learnt and you and I are among them :o)
Keep up the good work and enjoy this lovely new lens ;o) Cheers, Rob |
