Re: new light box
Think I commented about this in the other thread, but image was smaller.
Good shot, and nice, simple lighting. The only issue I can see here is that I think the white balance might be a little bit off. I say this because the bg is obviously supposed to be white, but it is actually more grey and slightly purple, a common occurrence with white backgrounds. You could fix this quite easily in PS with levels, or colour balance, so no worries there. One thing I might be tempted to do, seeing the white edges of the petals more clearly, is like I said before, use a black background. I think the flowers would be well defined, and you wont have the issue of WB, plus you can use a narrower aperture (not that it needs it) and it doesn't matter it the background gets darker. Just a thought Jack

Re: new light box
I don't think the WB is off, I just think the BG is not pure white. I could be wrong but it doesn't look true white, it looks slightly mottled, like a painted surface.
Lovely clear detail throughout here Nellie so the lighting has worked really well. I would agree with Jack that the BG could easily be made white and I think it might help but it's a lovely shot and I like the angle across the diagonal. Well done ![]() Rob |

Re: new light box
Agree with Jack that WB probably needs adjusting, along with the Levels as it all looks somewhat flat - maybe even a touch of contrast in Curves. I'd also be tempted to get rid of the green at the bottom. Think the image would then be much punchier and live up to the composition which works well

Re: new light box
Thankyou Jack and Rob for your comments - I am wondering if perhaps I should have hung a white back - drop in the light box instead of relying on the box itself. However - I will give it a go next time to enhance clarity of the background.
