I really like this shot. It shows the texture of the sanddunes and gives a feeling of both soft smoothness and isolation. Your colors are great, as it the focus. There is a bit much lost in shadows, but that can be forgiven.
However, I really don't like all the dark foreground. It is distracting and dull. You could have climbed on your trusty ladder that you bring to all your shoots and taken the shot from a higher angle , or just moved closer to change the perspective and get more of the area between the fg dune and the bg.But nontheless, a wonderful shot. skip |

Lovely comp. Good shot. The pastel coloured sky makes a nice backdrop.

Being from the southwest of the US, and having spent endless times out about the dunes, I find this shot very artisticly pleaseing, It is surprizeing how many flowering plants you can find in the dunes, I was very young and only have c-124 shots of the places we were. but this picture is a pleasent surprize for me. Also, I have been to death valley, but don't remember any dunes of any real size. Whites sands New Mexico is the place to go for beautiful dunes. The Imperial Valley is another. Thanks for sharing
