Re: One I played with earlier
I like it, the treatment you have given it seems to suit the subject.

Re: One I played with earlier
Hi, Fi
It is a nice shot ![]() No, it is not that bad, really. I do have some problems however. The eye is immediately drawn to the highlights on the front of the building and the clouds. Even the path leads over to the side of the church, where I think the focus should be the door and whatever that jutting out wing of the church is called. Other than that, I like the tonal range and sharpness, but this is again a picture where some walking about would have given perhaps a better shot. I know. You took this when you were young and innocent. skip |

Re: One I played with earlier
I like the treatment Fi, but the clouds are a little bright. It would make a good postcard. From a composition point of view, Skip may well be right, but an OK image nevertheless.

Re: One I played with earlier
Yup, for me the building is excellent, it's only the sky that I don't like due to the brightness drawing me eye upwards and away from the building. The rest is lovely and definitely not nice

Yes, but maybe the clouds are just too much?

Re: One I played with earlier
My admittedly biased vote goes to - no clouds.

Re: One I played with earlier
I think that no clouds focuses the eye on the church.

Re: One I played with earlier
No Clouds, definitely works well for me.
Gives it a more gothic tone which would appeal more to you Fi surely! Cheers, Rob |

Re: One I played with earlier
'No Clouds' works for me - as does just the 'reduced' clouds top left (balances the "weight" of the building)
