Over the fence

Not been out much with the camera but got this yesterday. Went in search of a nice sunrise but it was overcast and light drizzle.

Thanks.
Ken.

another amazing shot, and the sky is truley amazing (beats me how you all do so well with skies lol ), only thing i see is the little white spot on the far bank, i thought it was dust on my screen but its not, id maybe clone that out, but im just being picky now lol.

I really like this shot. Looks so calm and tranquil, but yet so moody.

It doesn't look quite right Ken. With the sky that red I'd expect to see more of a red cast on the water. Also the colour balance of the far bank looks in keeping with the sky while on the near bank it doesn't. There's also what appears to be a very noticeable processing halo in the centre at the near waters edge?

It's a nicely composed shot as is the norm with your stuff these days, but I've seen you put far better shots in 'Sharing'.

Ken, love the shot, but do feel the sky is a bit overbearing and dosen't seem to fit in with the rest of the picture.
But then again, what do i know.

Love the sky and the overall scene. Not too keen on the fence though, I know it's the point of the shot but it's a bit luminous and overpowering for me.

Thanks for the comments again. I deliberately left the exif until after I recieved some comments....so here goes.
18mm
F20
10 exposures between 6 sec & 40 sec.
tripod.
mirror lock up.
cokin filter a.124
cokin filter a.028

I did take great care in processing this compared to other stuff I have posted before and for the first time every step was processed using layers. I think I have darkened it a tad too much though!

Now if it was snow you'd be yelling red snow???? I did desaturate this quite a bit as a whole, which would have removed most from the land? I presume.

And i'm confident that this is not a halo but some light reflection on the water edge....I'm also confident that I did not over sharpen, as per the two images below. I still used the tpfaction which has 5 usm sharpenings. The images below are unprocessed and one unsharpened....The other is sharpened with all the 5 settings ticked....my processed pic has only two of these usm boxes ticked.
But yes I did notice it and knew someone would say something.
Unprocessed...unsharpened.

unprocessed...sharpened.

Thanks for the comments again.
Oh and the cokin filter set and holder are some of what I got for Christmas
Ken.

Great shot - nice smooth colours for the sky and river and then all that detail in the forground and fence, gives it such a peaceful atmosphere.

I much, much prefer the original Ken, why didn't you stick that up in the first place? That's really nice - just needs a bit of punch but I wouldn't alter the colour at all.

Love the shot Ken ... great location and beautifully executed ! The niggles others have commented on I would probably not have noticed immediately but once you do ... !

The fence is a bit 'in your face' but it mirrors the line of the river magically and brings it all together for me. I also prefer the first posting - too much red in the others for my taste.

Nice shot Ken, I've had a play ...

As other have said, the colour of the sky is a nice warm colour, yet the foreground is quite cold, so thats all I've done ... Masked and dropped the colour temp down to 4500.

Dont tease me about my crap masking, It was a quick job. LOL

Makes a nice IR shot too

Thanks again for all the comments, I really appreciate it.
I only have a small monitor and the little white dot thing is very hard to notice for me, I will have another go at processing this and will clone the dot out while I’m on…but thanks for pointing it out. The fence was the only foreground interest handy, I didn’t want to go back home with nothing and because of the miserable morning and poor sunrise I thought I’d give the multiple exposure thing a go.

It is only one of the ten exposures used to create the first I posted.

Now I quite like that first one you did….but still a little dark not so keen on the ir. Must start selectively processing my pics, I tend to just process the pic as a whole.
