Padstow harbour

This was one of my first attempts at some low light shots this summer after getting my new D50. I was hoping for more detail in the sky but it was a warm evening with no clouds. I found it difficult finding a good viewpoint as there were a number of boats in the harbour (suprising eh !!) and the masts were getting in the way.

Re: Padstow harbour

I think that is very good Ian, . There is enough light to see some detail and an excellent reflection. I think it is composed well with my eyes being led across the harbour to the lights on the far side. You have said it was difficult to find a good spot and I'm wondering whether the shot would be better without the capstan in the foreground.

I took the liberty of cownloading it (since deleted) and it will stand some adjustments to levels and sharpening which will bring out the detail.

Re: Padstow harbour

Can't really comment as haven't tried night photography, but you seem to have got the right result
