Passion With a Sting
Hey guys and gals!
I have added pictures to my gallery, thanks to the fantastic help I have received on here, (thanks to all who gave me advice and patience), and I was wondering if you would let me know what you think of the image below please? I am looking for crticism and comments, so please...let me know what you think! Thanks in advance, J Last edited by Sonsey; 23-01-2007 at 18:48. Reason: to fix link and clean up thread. |

Re: Passion With a Sting
Great shot Jonny nice composition, great exposure. It might have been nice to see a bit more of the bee, but I understand they aren't always the most willing of models!!!
Love the title of the photo by the way Great job!!! |

Re: Passion With a Sting
Hi Jonny
This is a good try, and shooting shots like this is not easy. From my point of view, it is quite confusing and busy. There is a lot of conflicting stuff in the image, and I was not sure what the subject was. If it was the bee, he is hidden too much. In general, the cleaner the image, that is, the fewer unrelated parts, the better. The brown thing in the upper center detracts as do the background leaves. And this is one instance where I think that a bit wider dof would be better. Also the focus doesn't seem sharp, but I am giving up on that because I can't tell if it is a compression/resizing issue or a real focus problem. skip |

Re: Passion With a Sting
Hey! Thanks for your words!
I think it must be the resizing, as on the original, I can zoom in to see the hairs on the bee's face. I always prefer my pictures to be blown up as big as possible, which with this image, makes it so much better! The smaller the image, the more fussy and confusing it seems! There is so much going on in such a small place, for example, the petal coming out @ you in the front of the picture, the stamnens which grow outwards in all directions and the bee and the list goes on! It does look incredible VERY large though, as though you have the view of the bee. Thanks again, J |
