Picked on the wifes flowers again.
Bet you can't find a single fault with this picture!

The background is too black

Only joking you've got a very nice image lovely and crisp, that purple is a very striking colour. Nit picking here maybe just a touch more height between top of the image and tip of the leaf maybe? See what the others say.

This also might work very nicely as a mono image

Nice one Soup

I like the symmetry in the compo + the colours in the flower. A bit more DoF perhaps, as it's not very sharp. I find the leaves a bit distracting + don't seem to have a purpose in the image, + they look a bit ailing

Cropped a bit close on the left. At first glance, it's a lovely image ... but one can always find fault if one looks hard enough

Sorry about the opening gambit but I find claiming perfection is the best way of getting feedback.
I'd be some sort of idiot to believe any photograph was perfection.

This was a bit ironic for me, 'cos it's usually Soup picking my pic's to pieces, so I jumped at the chance to reciprocate

Nice image Soup! My only comment would be that the petals have been lopped off at either side - it would be nice to have had the complete flower. Otherwise, it's lovely!

To be honest I cropped out a ton of green foliage from the origing which was even more distracting.
Now, had the wife let me hack out superfluous green stuff the whole thing would have worked much better (like that was ever going to happen).

That opening gambit is like waving a red flag in front of this group....

I have to say the first thing that struck me is the wonderful contrast in colors here as well as the complementary color palate. The purple and green really stand out against the black background and the yellow fringe of the petal is an added bonus. I'm still a novice with respect to the color wheel but I believe the purple, yellow and green are very compatable colors that work particularly well together.

This work's alot better than the original composition wise (which didn't do much for me), colour and detail are excellent in both though

I like this a lot more than the first one.

I also did not like the way flower went out of shot before, but this is completely different.
