Re: Platycnemis pennipes-macro
chrisa Fuji FinePix 9500 + Raynox DCR-250 macro lens. I'm hunting them at very early morning, around 5 o'clock when they are sitting still waiting for sun to warm them up, they are covered by water every single day at that time.
My camera is not good enough for what I do - I'm trying to save some money and I'm going to buy Nikon D80 with Nikon 105mm f/2.8G VR IF-ED Micro. I hope it'll happend this summer. Last edited by marcinklysewicz; 21-02-2008 at 14:58. |

Re: Platycnemis pennipes-macro
Not too sure how you can get such a stunning picture with what is basically a second rate camera and a snap on magnifying glass that costs twenty quid? Can someone talk me through it please?

Re: Platycnemis pennipes-macro
Clever use of the water droplets to magnify the deteail in the eyes Marcin, your focusing is stunningly good and the picture is just full of interest. Superb work.
I've had a good look around your website and you are a very talented man, your music is excellent as well as your photos. Good to see you here on Pixalo. Next time I'm popping over to Sturminster Newton, I'll let you know. I live in Poole. Would be nice to meet you over by the lovely White Bridge and surroundings ![]() Cheers, Rob |

Re: Platycnemis pennipes-macro
M1ke - you say you need explanation, well i'll tell you something, i think this photo is just ok, nothing special, not with this equipment i have. DOF could me much better (more details not only 2-3 milimeters of sharpness). colours are corrected in photoshop, same as sharpness (after crop i had to do that), and of course noice is reduced. belive me if you know how to use photoshop you could do magic things. i'm just curious what i'll be eable to do with better camera
