Portland Bill

Here's a shot i've had lurking about for a while, converted it to mono. I wanted something very subtle so many might find it to dark but i like it.

Anyway your thoughts please

Re: Portland Bill

I really like this as well Stu It's quite unusual. A little dark for some tastes maybe, but it looks good technically to me + I find it a very pleasing image. I think it'd look good in a thin black frame hung on the hall wall type-of-picture. Very nice indeed. I certainly couldn't suggest any way in which you could improve it, comp is just right, as is exposure. Colour's a bit cr@p tho' ... just kidding

Re: Portland Bill

A place I've shot hundreds of times Stu but not tried one like this so well done for being original It is just a shade darker than I'd like, would like just a touch more outlining the shape of the building, but all in all I like this a lot, very well thought out.

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Portland Bill

Cheers rob, I really want to photograph Portland Bill in fog but no fog the last couple of times i've been there so i thought a graining night time shot would work. I shot the lighthouse from all angles, and its hard trying to capture it in ways that hasn't been done before. Glad you like it.

Charlotte you should be able to find adobe gamma in the control panel, however saying it wasn't there on my comp so a quick search and i found it in 'program files>common files>control panels' it should be there somewhere if you have elements or photoshop.
