Thanks for this on two counts Marcin: one because it's a lovely picture and two for telling me about this Butterfly place in Portland which i never knew existed but love taking butterfly shots. Could you perhaps PM me with more details of where it is?

Yes very nice photo. I had heard of the place and was planning a trip.

Other good sites for butterflies (well they were last year, when I visited) are Powerstock Common (v.limited car parking) and Old Winchester Hill.

Some other transects (places to find them, including Portland ) and info on Dorset butterflys can be found at Butterfly Conservation Dorset Branch
