Re: processing experiment

Hi Fiona, certainly 'gothic' looking. What would it be like if you lightened those dark clouds a bit and did a Mono version ?.Mono might make less of the fences and clutter at the base of the building?.Is this a shot of the building with a new sky/background added?.

Re: processing experiment

An interesting effect - the building itself seems to look drawn/painted rather than a photograph.

Re: processing experiment

nope thats the original sky but i did two exposures one for the sky and one for the building, cos by the time i navigated myself into and out of a broken window of another half ruined building the light was awful.

i was going to look at going mono on this but wasnt sure.
thanx both of you

Fi

Be interesting to see a mono, for me the colour just doesn't seem right on the sky/background.Just a bit 'powerful'?.

Re: processing experiment

Attempted a mono for you Fi. Also played with the sky to remove the nasty blown bits. Hope you don't mind
(I know you can see one editing mark, but apart from that )

Re: processing experiment

The mono works really well, the colour much less so. I totally agree that the burnt out area to the left must go but the rest has a forboding feel to it that works nicely on this subject. I think it's a shame we have lost the bottom left front corner of the path/road. I know the building itself is not cropped but the way the line goes down, it feels incomplete somehow.

Could be a good entry to try out in the you-know-what in January Fi :o)

Cheers,
Rob
