Rainy day in Royal Deeside
Fairly pleased with the composition on this one taken today in the rain but would like comments on how I could have improved on it.
The light wasn't brilliant. f13 1/50 ISO200 handheld with kit lens @18mm ![]() |

I think you've hit the nail on the head.
The composition is nice but it's all about light. Landscape photography IMO is 10% composition and 80% light with 10% luck thrown in. The light wasn't with you on this one. I find my best landscape shots are taken at sunrise or sunset with ND grads and perhaps a CP filter. The best investment in photography I ever made was not a camera nor a lens but ND grad filters and a CP filter. But that's just me. |

I love landscapes, but I've got a long way to travel in any direction to find one without the pimps and hoes hanging round on the corner.
![]() A good alarm clock is a pretty essential requirement too! :icon_eek: |

Swinging round to the right would have included this but didn't have the tripod as I was supposed to be working! ![]() |
