Ravenglass Estuary

Started on this a few days ago and decided to do a rare mono.

C&C please. I have my own thoughts but as always fire away.

Roger

Re: Ravenglass Estuary

I like it, it's one of those shots that works in mono and I really like colour
The composition is good, boat placed on the third, which is always pleasing to the viewer, lots of leads into the shot from the shore line and also the mooring rope.
Maybe a little flat, but only a little, but someone better at mono than me could tweak that.
As for adjustments, I would remove the ariel sticking up and out of the shot and also clone out the sensor dust in the sky (I think your sensor could do with a clean up ) Also just a few bits of rubbish on the beach I would remove, the dark stone to the right of the boat, the stick in the middle and the rock near the shore, it would just clean it up a bit.
Not sure about the sky, there are a couple of burnt out bits at the centre and a darkened strp on the right.
Hope you don't mind my ramblings, it's just what I can see. But a good shot to take.

Re: Ravenglass Estuary

I prefer the sky and the lower vantage point of the 2nd image, especially the boat being complete and not having the aerial cropped. I don't like the burnt in sky to the right of the boat though, I am assuming that is what you've done, as it doesn't look natural. The rest of the sky has plenty of interesting detail. I also prefer the darker pebbles in the 2nd shot as it doesn't pull my eye away from the main subject like in the first one.

Good composition here Roger, the kind of place I love to go for walks with my camera

Cheers,
Rob
